“Special gift for my little angle”
SHS 1 is the best school in SMD, it has a good environment surrounding the area where a lot of students have the very good capability in each and every subjects and very strong financial too. But there are still small numbers of students who have the lower financial capability. And one of them is Ridho.
He comes from a very poor family where he always has the same problem every month and that is paying the school fee. His father is just a cleaning service staff and meanwhile his mom is a petrol seller in front of their house. Ridho has a younger sister named Mega. She is still at the second grade in Elementary School.
Next week there will be a speech competition in SHS 1 Smd. Ridho is actually really excited to hear that. It’s not about being the winner, but the prize that makes him feel motivated. The main prize will be “Rp. 200.000”. And he already makes his plan to use the money to buy a pair of beautiful shoes for his lovely sister .
So to get this, he must try so much harder to be at the first place where there are a lot of his friends have the good facilities that can support them. Unfortunately it doesn’t happen to Ridho. So his friends keep saying “Forget about it, you are just going to embarrass yourself”. Stop dreaming and be realistic. Ridho just keeps quite and start to say to himself, “you don’t know me, I’ll proof it to you how good I am. I guess this is the moment.
From that day on, he practices every day until late at night, he goes to the cyber café to search for extra material from the internet. He does not eat because he uses the money to go to the cyber café without telling his parents about it because he doesn’t want to give more pressure to his parents.
During the competition, he is able to defeat other competitors easily. It shows a huge surprise to all of his friends who always under estimate him in every situation.
And on the final day, he even makes the juries spontaneously rise up from their seats while giving a big applause (standing applause) right after Ridho finishes his last word on his speech.
One of the juries says: “this is the first time I hear a student has a spectacular and great speech and has a very strong message to lots of people.
Finally Ridho become the winner and he gets the first place’s prize. after that he runs to the shoes store and look for the beautiful pair of shoes that his lovely sister wants it. After got the shoes he runs to his house. He looks at his sister is sleeping in her bed. He comes closer and kisses her cheek. His sister wakes up directly and asks him. “what is going on my brother” . ridho is smiling and says “this is my special gift for you, I hope you like it” she opens the box and sees the pair of beautiful shoes . spontaneously she cries and hugs him. She says “ thank you so much my brother this my first and the best gift that I ever accepted it” I really you. And ridho says “ keep smiling sister I just want to see that from because you are my little angel”
2. My Bad Habbit
One day, I went to famous high school in Samarinda. Wearing uniform that hadn’t been ironed, messy hair, and socks that hadn’t been cleaned for a week and came late. Today is Monday. Like usual, every Monday every school in Indonesia have ceremony. And for three years, my presence at ceremony can be counted by fingers.
My name is Richard, my friends usually call me Rick. I’m 3rd grade student in SMANSA ( Samarinda’s 1st Senior High School). By the way, my reason for coming late is never change. Wake up late. And I always go out till night late. Because it, I come late to school sometimes. But I like my routine and i don’t know why I never try to change this bad habbit. Although I have been reminded and given warning by my teachers, I can’t change my bad habbit. And it couldn’t change my bad habbit. I don’t know if this bad habbit still continue till I graduate from this school.
Day by day, I still wake up late. And I still don’t know how to change this bad habbit. I still come late. My parents don’t want to wake me up because I’m child no more. So I need to independent with myself. I have tried to turn on the alarm. And I wake up early. But I still sleeping at school. Sometimes I truancy at some lesson for sleeping at mosque.
One day,when I sat in mosque, I saw a girl. I looked at the girl for a while. And I felt there was something different. My heartbeat increased. Maybe I fell in love with that girl. She is pretty. I felt she has the most sweetest smile I’ve ever seen. I never saw smile like her.
After school, I dared to ask for her cellphone number. I ran away to chase her.
“Hey, are you new student?” I said.
“Ya, I was from Jakarta.” The girl said..
“I’m Richard, you can call me Rick, what’s your name?” I asking.
“I’m Cindy.”, the girl smiling to me.
“I’m sorry, may I have your phone number?” I asking very nervous and sweating like ice cream melting.
“Sure, +62852xxxxxxxx, owh ya, my father have waited for me, see you tomorrow”, Cindy said.
“Be carefull J.”, I said.
I was very happy. I never felt like this. I didn’t know why, this world feels like meadow flowers. Beautiful. She looks like a good friend. I wanted to be her boyfriend. And I wanted to be the best for her. So, I thought I must change my bad habbit first. I didn’t go anywhere at night or night late. Because I didn’t want to come late again. I must showed to her that I’m a nice guy.
Day after day, I never wake up late anymore. It was motivating to not come late and be a nice guy. Since I felt in love with her, I never wake up late. And it changed me. But I couldn’t be her boyfriend, because she already had a boyfriend. I didn’t mind about it. Sometimes love doesn’t have to have. I knew about it, and I realized that. At least, I never come late anymore.

3. The Precious Things That Called Friendship
That afternoon the bell rang, and all the students prepared to go home. There are seven girls who call themselves “7 Belliant” or Seven Beautiful and Brilliant that did the same thing like the other students. They were Sanny as the leader, Vivi, Lia, Fini, Jojo, Cera, and Tata. They were one of the many exist groups at their school. They have been friends since attended the high school. They always gathered together every break time at school and also hang out during the school holidays. They had a very close friendship until conflict rose between them.
Lia, the smartest girl between 7 Belliant, was chosen as the only one participant to represent their school to join a competition in Manado for two weeks. Her friends were very sad because they would not meet Lia for those two weeks. However, Lia still had to fulfill her responsibility.
The departure day came and Lia had to say goodbye to her friends. Days passed, and suddenly, Jenny, the girl who was always alone at school, came along to Lia’s friends. She was trying to get attention from the 7 Belliant. Jenny began to incite the mind of Lia’s friends in a way to make the 7 Belliant hate Lia. Jenny successes to get into the group and eliminated Lia who didn’t know anything.
Two weeks passed, Lia had been back in school as usual, and did the usual things with her friends, gathered in the meatballs canteen. Unfortunately, her friends were not there. She began to look into all the classrooms, and apparently, she found her friends were at Jenny's class. Lia came to her friends immediately. However, their friends’ treated had changed. They were very different and did not consider Lia as a part of 7 Belliant anymore. Lia was very sad. Her friendships destroyed just because she was going to fulfill her responsibility and also because of Jenny who had replaced her in the 7 Belliant. But Lia still be patient and she believed, one day her friends would be aware.
And it was true. After graduation announcement day, The 7 Belliant came to Lia’s class. They apologized and hugged Lia. They had realized what they did during the last time was wrong. They had betrayed their friends only to get someone who was more exciting than Lia. They were aware, jenny just gave a bad impact to them, that always invited them to play and forget their duties as students and then made their test scores became worst. They realized that Lia who always gave support to them to study, taught them when they did not understand the lessons in school. They had decided to start acting normal with Jenny, and began building their friendship with Lia as usual.
That's the true friendship. Always accept your weakness and will not trust what the others said who wanted to destroy your friendship.
